The short version

VET is the staking and value coin of VeChainThor, a smart-contract blockchain curated by VeChain Foundation San Marino S.R.L., with VTHO as the gas token. Supply is fixed at 86,712,634,466 VET. The Hayabusa hard fork on 2 Dec 2025 replaced the authority-masternode model with delegated proof of stake, so VTHO is now generated only by staked VET, and the Interstellar fork on 16 Sep 2026 added Ethereum's newest EVM features. On 31 Oct 2026 one VET cost C$0.00835. From 31 Jul 2026 to 31 Oct 2026 its price changed +26.4% in Canadian dollars, and it was 97.6% below its all-time high of C$0.3518 set on 18 Apr 2021.[1]
