AptosAPT
A proof-of-stake layer-1 built by Aptos Labs with the Move language; mainnet since October 2022.
The short version
Aptos is a proof-of-stake blockchain using the Move language, developed by Aptos Labs (CEO Avery Ching since 19 Dec 2024, when co-founder Mo Shaikh stepped down) with the Aptos Foundation. Transaction fees are burned, and staking rewards set by on-chain governance add new APT. On 1 Mar 2026 token holders approved a 2.1 billion hard cap, a permanent lock of 210 million Foundation APT, and a staking-rate cut from 5.19% to 2.6%. On 31 Oct 2026 one APT cost C$0.9097. From 31 Jul 2026 to 31 Oct 2026 its price changed +13.9% in Canadian dollars, and it was 96.6% below its all-time high of C$26.51 set on 26 Jan 2023.[1]
