The short version

Kaspa is a proof-of-work cryptocurrency that orders blocks in a DAG with the GHOSTDAG protocol instead of one chain. It was fair-launched in November 2021 with no premine or coin allocation, and open-source developers maintain the rusty-kaspa node software; no company or foundation issues it. The Crescendo hard fork on 5 May 2025 raised block production from 1 to 10 blocks a second without changing the per-second coin emission. On 31 Oct 2026 one KAS cost C$0.0464. From 31 Jul 2026 to 31 Oct 2026 its price changed +19.4% in Canadian dollars, and it was 83.8% below its all-time high of C$0.2864 set on 31 Jul 2024.[1]
