Red flags and things to watch

1 red flag found
  • Red flag: USD1's contract owner can freeze, pause and drain or reallocate frozen balances; the World Liberty trust bank meant to issue it has only preliminary OCC approval (Aug 2026).[3, 7]
  • World Liberty and BitGo froze US$27M of USD1 on 30 Oct 2026 linked to a US$6.3B hack the day before; the issuer can freeze any address.[4]
  • Justin Sun sued World Liberty in Apr 2026 over WLFI voting rights and frozen wallets; the case is private and does not name USD1.[7]
