SushiSwap is a multichain exchange launched in Aug 2020 as a Uniswap fork by the pseudonymous 'Chef Nomi' and '0xMaki', with no venture funding. A Cayman Islands DAO foundation handles governance and the treasury. Alex McCurry became CEO in Dec 2025 after acquiring more than 10M SUSHI; that month a vote, in which one wallet cast about 99.9% of votes, raised the yearly emission ceiling to 5%. On 31 Oct 2026 one SUSHI cost C$0.2713. From 31 Jul 2026 to 31 Oct 2026 its price changed +27.3% in Canadian dollars, and it was 99.1% below its all-time high of C$29.16 set on 13 Mar 2021.[1]
