SAND is the Ethereum token of The Sandbox, a user-generated virtual world based on Pixowl's 2011 game and co-founded by Arthur Madrid and Sebastien Borget. Hong Kong's Animoca Brands has funded the blockchain version since 2019. On 22 Aug 2026 an attacker exploited SAND's cross-chain bridge contracts, creating unbacked SAND on Base and BNB Chain and taking about US$675K. On 31 Oct 2026 one SAND cost C$0.0653. From 31 Jul 2026 to 31 Oct 2026 its price changed +8.9% in Canadian dollars, and it was 99.4% below its all-time high of C$10.62 set on 24 Nov 2021.[1]
